SHOP MEGASTORE SPONSORS RISING STARS OF CARDIFF CITY LADIES FC
Cardiff’s leading car
supermarket, The Car Shop Megastore, is sponsoring Cardiff City Ladies Football
Club Under 14’s development side.
The Car Shop Megastore’s donation of £500 has provided the team with a new kit and will contribute towards the cost of their training facilities and matches.
In addition, the donation has been matched by the Sports Council of Wales Sportsmatch Cymru scheme, an Assembly-funded pound for pound business incentive scheme, aimed at encouraging commercial sponsorship into grass roots sport. The scheme will see The Car Shop Megastore’s contribution doubled to £1,000.
Cardiff City Ladies Football
Club now runs four junior and two women’s teams as well as three
satellite centres in sports centres around the city, and was recently awarded
bronze status for the Football Association of Wales’ Club Accreditation
Scheme.
The Car Shop Megastore’s
General Sales Manager Rick Wilson, comments: “We are always delighted when we
are given the opportunity to put something back into the local community. We
were really inspired by the success of the junior development within this
progressive club, and hope that our sponsorship will allow that success to
continue in the future.”
Under 14’s coach Lorraine
Rye, says: “This sponsorship deal is a massive boost for our section of the
club as we move up from mini football to playing full-sided games this season.
It’s a fantastic encouragement for the girls to know that they are being
supported by a well-known local company, who appreciate the progress we are
making within our junior development programme.”
Based on Penarth Road,
Cardiff, The Car Shop Megastore is the largest car supermarket in the area with
over 500 quality used cars on site and 200 vans. All vehicles are hand-picked
from a range of blue-chip companies and then subjected to a rigorous, 84-point
check before being accepted. 95 per
cent of cars have only had one owner and all have a full service history,
valid MOT, plus a 84 point safety
check. All cars have as much as three years’ warranty available. None are
sourced at auction.
